Aliwal Dive Centre is a custom built PADI 5* I.D.C. and bed & breakfast based in the sleepy town of Umkomaas, KZN. Drive time from Durban International Airport is approx 35 minutes. The launch site at the Umkomaas River mouth is a short 5 minute drive from the Lodge. Aliwal Shoal is a marine protected area and is classed as one of the top 10 dive sites in the world. This ancient fossilized sand dune is around 6km’s out to sea and the boat ride on our 8m RIBs takes about 15 – 20 minutes, a great opportunity for Dolphin and Whale spotting.
