The Dive Site Photo Competition 2012

The Dive Site is a growing brand focused on the underwater world. We want to explore everything there is to know about the sea and share it with our South African and international communities.

This year we will be focusing on the technical aspects of underwater photography, and we are pleased to have a few of SAs top underwater photographers act as judges for our competitions. They will also be critiquing submissions in order to help photographers improve their skills and get more people involved in underwater photography.

The What:

Each competition will run a specific theme; our first theme: Eyes

Eye on the Prize

We want you to capture shots with this theme in the most unique, creative, fun, and exciting way you know how. Macro, wide, portrait, fish eye, whale eye, shrimp eye, big, small, strange eyes, a collage of eyes, or things that resemble eyes! Anything underwater and anything relating to, or encompassing eyes.

The How:

You must be a registered user to enter the competition. Registration is free.

Submission of entries will close 6 weeks after competition begins. Our team of judges will choose their top 10 photos in each skill level: novice, intermediate, advanced. These 30 photos will be posted on our site and YOU vote for the winners.

Registered users will have 2 weeks to vote for their favourite photos. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for all three skill levels. You can only vote once. At the end of the 2 weeks, we will tally up the votes to determine the winners. If there is a draw, winners will be decided by the judges and the Dive Site.

Judges decisions are final.
